I am one of the early adopters of Gumroad, and its one of the places I recommend to everyone I know. In no way do I benefit from your use of their service, unless you are buying one of my products that I sell through them, they are just quality and should be used and supported as they keep improving in directions that are in sync with what I want from service like theirs.
It is not affiliate program for referring folks to Gumroad, but a built in affiliate program so that you can have affiliates sell your items.
Obvious reason is because Gumroad is free to use and only takes percentages after you make a sale. If you are giving away your items for free through Gumroad, they offer free storage and charge you nothing, which is really cool.
Gumroad already has built in option for discount coupons you can create on the fly, allows unlimited accounts with different user names and emails, so that you can make different shops for different types of products.
For example, I have one for PLR stuff, and there would be no point to placing my fiction books there as well because person who only wants fiction books would be annoyed having to browse through PLR to see my selection. And vice versa.
Affiliate program is very simple. You select your affiliates email, product or products, and percentage you want to give that person for each sale they make.
There is also option to send buyers to a different destination URL.
